Bethany Perry
PhD Student
Bethany joins us from the UK and has a keen interest in the biology of underlying parasitic diseases and how they can be effectively diagnosed and controlled.
Bethany is currently working on the ARC Plant Biosecurity Training Centre Project “Invasive snails as vectors of pathogens and parasites” which aims to assess the parasite and pathogen loads of invasive snails in Australia and the potential of genomic technologies for their diagnosis and detection. This exciting project will improve knowledge of vectoring and how it should be incorporated into biosecurity planning. When not studying, Bethany enjoys being outdoors and taking part in activities such as rock climbing, hiking, Zumba and swimming.
